Burma: A View From the Inside
During the month of September 2007 peaceful protests took place all over the country of Burma. Led by Buddhist monks it was named the Saffron Revolution after the color of the monks’ robes. Over 100,000 marchers took to the streets in the city of Rangoon alone, with thousands more spanning 25 other cities. Military soldiers fired rounds into the crowd killing at least 9 people, including a Japanese journalist whose’ death was caught on take and broadcast around the world.
